This is my favorite recipe, ever since we could buy paneer. Paneer is an indian cheese similar to ricotta but not salted and dried. If you want to make this recipe, you really need to use paneer.

Muttar Paneer

225g Paneer
450g peas (fresh or frozen)
2 medium onions
1 green chilli
1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp curry powder
100 g tomatoes
2 tsp oil
salt to taste

Heat the oil and fry the onions, garlic and chili. Add all of the spices except the salt. Cook for 1-2 minutes then add the tomatoes and salt to taste.

Gradually add a little water to reduce the tomatoes to a puree. Cook until the oil separates from the mixture.

Add the peas and the Paneer. Stir well.

Cover with 500ml of water and cook gently until the peas are cooked and the sauce has thickened.
